Our nursing team offer a cytology screening service, from Monday to Friday. Cervical screening is a quick, easy and reliable test to detect HPV that can cause abnormal cells at the neck of the womb (cervix). Regular screening can detect the potential for possible cancerous cells developing and ensure they are treated. Women aged 25-49 years should have screening every three years and those aged 50-64 every five years. If you have an abnormal screening result, you may need to have repeat tests sooner. For a cervical screening appointment please complete our appointment request form.

There are some helpful resources to help you to understand cervical cancer screening. Please contact us if you have any questions. We can arrange an appointment for you to talk things through with the nurse first, and to see where the test would happen if that would be helpful. You can also book a double appointment if needed so you have enough time.
