Pharmacy First is a service for patients over the age of 1 year old, to be assessed, diagnosed and treated by a pharmacist for a variety of conditions.
When appropriate these pharmacists are able to prescribe antibiotics and other prescription medications.
The practice may refer you to a local pharmacy based on your form submission, or you can go directly to a pharmacy for advice and guidance on any of the following conditions:
- Ear problems and pain
- Urinary tract infections (UTI) (Women aged 16-64)
- Impetigo
- Infected insect bites
- Acute sore throat (Patients aged 5+)
- Acute sinusitis (Patients aged 12+ years)
- Shingles (Patients aged 18+ years)
- Bites and stings
- Colds and congestion
- Eye problems (e.g. conjunctivitis) or dry eyes
- Constipation or Diarrhoea
- Hay fever
- Sleep difficulties
- Vaginal thrush
- Sprains and strains
- Skin disorders (e.g. athletes foot, rash, acne etc)
- Cold sores, mouth ulcers and oral thrush
