Wellbeing Advisor
Hello! My name is Georgie and I am the Wellbeing Advisor for Fort house Surgery.
My job is to listen to you and working together, we can decide if you have any non-medical needs that I can assist you with.
We all know that many things affect our health and wellbeing and that taking care of yourself involves more than just medicine.
Life’s challenges can all contribute to ill health, and you may find yourself needing some extra support to address these issues.
I can connect you with a range of support services such as:
- hobby and activity based groups
- befriending, counselling and emotional support groups
- employment, training and volunteering
- healthy lifestyle advice and physical activity or sports groups
The service is available to anyone aged 18 or over, but is not a crisis service.
You will either be referred by your health professional here at Fort House or you can request a referral to me via the on line form.
Once the referral has been made, I will then contact you directly to talk about your situation and what you would like to achieve; allowing you to take greater control of your own health and wellbeing
In the future I will post events/activities taking place in Elmbridge on this website, so please do get in touch if either you are holding one or want more information.
CAB Service
In January 2024 Citizens Advice launched their first GP outreach location here at the surgery.
As the UK’s largest advice provider, they can help deal with any issue, from anyone, including debt, employment and benefits entitlement, to consumer and housing issues, plus everything in between.
The CAB team are at the practice 4 days a week. If you would like to access their help, you can be referred by your clinician or self-refer via the appointment form.
Parkrun Practice
Fort House Surgery are proud to be a parkrun practice.
As part of our commitment to the health and wellness of our community, we are now officially a parkrun practice. The parkrun practice initiative is a collaboration between the Royal College of General Practitioners and parkrun UK, designed to encourage practices across the UK to develop close links with their local parkrun.
Parkruns are social physical activity events which are held every Saturday morning. People can walk, run, volunteer or come along and watch. Taking part in parkrun is the perfect opportunity for people of all ages to be active, with others, in the open air. We want to inspire as many people as possible to lead healthy lifestyles, including practice staff.
Join Fort House at parkrun and discover the joy of movement while connecting with your fantastic community.
