Dr Amankwah is a born and bred Southerner – born and raised in South London, before graduating from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 2007. Dr Amankwah spent the majority of his junior doctor posts working in and around St Peter’s Hospital, qualifying as a GP in 2012. He has been a partner at the surgery since 2017, and has a particular interest in geriatric medicine, as well as expanding the role (and benefits) of digital medicine in 21st century General Practice.
Away from medicine, Dr Amankwah is a lifelong (and recently suffering) Manchester United fan, and lives in Worcester Park with his wife and three young children. More recently, as a result of sporting injuries (and definitely not his age!), he has swapped his football boots for cycling cleats. Sporting achievements include completing the Edinburgh marathon in 2014, Richmond half marathon in 2016, and the RideLondon 46 mile bike ride in 2019. His favourite films include anything from Marvel, The Godfather and Inception.
